In times of economic uncertainty, small businesses need practical know-how to stay strong. Learn how to manage risks, boost financial fitness, and ensure your business not only survives but thrives.

Join us for straightforward sessions where you’ll get easy tips, craft strategies, and fine-tune your plans with personalized advice. From risk management to financial fitness, this workshop series provides practical insights and actionable steps to ensure the survival and success of your small business amidst economic uncertainty. 

Each 2-hour workshop focuses on practical insights, followed by self-guided work to develop strategies, and ends with 2 hours of advisory to refine and validate startup strategies.

What is the cost of the programme?

The Business Resilience Workshop is FREE for all businesses to attend. Limited spots available.

Who is eligible?

Participating businesses in Startup Steam would be:

  • A Māori owned Business.
  • Based in Tāmaki Makaurau
  • Below $200,000 in annual revenue.
  • Currently trading but operational for less than 2 years. 

Participating businesses in Established Business Steam would be:

  • A Māori owned Business.
  • Based in Tāmaki Makaurau
  • Above $200,000 in annual revenue.

What is included in the program?

Assessing Business Health

Evaluate their business’s financial health, identify weaknesses, and set measurable resilience goals.

Financial Fitness

Gain skills in financial planning, cash flow management, understanding tax/GST, re-pricing, and managing accounts payable and receivable.

Effective Marketing Strategies

Learn to improve product positioning, define compelling value propositions, automate sales processes, develop effective marketing strategies, and enhance customer retention. 

Leadership and Crisis Management

Master crisis leadership and decision-making, foster employee engagement and mental well-being, and develop cross-training and skill-building strategies.

Financial and Investment Readiness

Develop and understand various funding and financing options and be prepared for potential investment and funding opportunities. 

Crafting Resilience Action Plans

Attendees will create tailored action plans to navigate economic uncertainty and implement strategies.

What is on offer?

The program structure will have four components:

Induction and Business health assessment.

Five 2-hour workshops delivered in a group setting.

The opportunity to be part of a community where you’ll work alongside other ambitious founders.

Up to 4 hours of business and advisory support delivered by expert business advisors.

The program induction will be held prior to the 5-week workshop below:
