Waituna Brewing Company is an indigenous enterprise exploring possibilities for highly effective products from kawakawa (Macropiper Excelsum). Waituna Brewing arose out of a growing understanding of the potential of kawakawa and the appreciation around how the native plant enhances health. We aim to tap into the growing interest, popularity and acceptance of kawakawa to bring a range of beverage products. Waituna is the first company in Aotearoa to hold a patent for putting kawakawa into beverages such as gingerbeer and energy drinks.
